Dedekind Cut - The Expanding Domain [Hallow Ground Promo]

Scheduled for release via the imprint Hallow Ground in September 2k17 is "The Expanding Domain", a new 23 minutes EP crafted by Fred Welton Warmsley III under his artistic moniker Dedekind Cut. Providing a whole of five tracks on this one which were created in transit between New York, Seoul and Berlin the opening tune "Cold Bloom" offers cold, yet storming and slightly distorted Ambient / Drone spheres accompanied by crackling background rhythms and an unexpected turn towards thrilling analogue bass pulses - and even panoramic Trance stabs. Wearing the "Lil Puffy Coat" the warm pulsating bass levels remain present and somehow remind us of "Little Fluffy Clouds" in terms of the tunes atmosphere whilst heavy (Neo)Cosmic chord distortions and whispering voices add up greatly in this one, "Fear In Reverse II" is more of a wildly arranged piece of brutalist Industrial mixed with Rhythm'n'Noize as well as banging Hardcore drums whereas the title track "The Expanding Domain" provides more of a harsh, Breakcore Noize feel paired with humongous bass build-ups and fragile, tender pianos for the darkest, post-nuclear hours in underground venues and abandoned bunker raves. Finally  "Das Expanded, Untitled Riff" weighs in more beauteous piano melancholia atop of raw, sawtooth-bass chords for all true Ambient- and Score-headz out there only to unfold influences of (Neo)Cosmic around mid-track to totally change the tunes vibe and elevate towards higher grounds through ongoing sonic climaxes. Interesting stuff.
