[Super 6 Records 049]

Upcoming on Super 6 Records is Sascha Müller's "Antje E.P.", a three track release dealing with several aspects of electronic dance music. Whilst "Plasmids In Motion" can be described as deep piece of Armchair Techno - some might prefer the early 90s term Intelligent Techno - featuring some chilled and relaxed piano chords, the bassdrums of "Pax" are quite raw and unprocessed, accompanied by 'troity strings, some House-flavored chords as well and a nice, hypnotic Acid line bubbling in the background. Finally there's "Traumphase", a thrilling mixture of laid back Electro and driving Acid elements, which is my favorite track out of these three for sure. Nice one.

<$BlogFeedsVertical$>

Gotan Project - La Gloria [¡Ya Basta! Records]

It's the latest release of ¡Ya Basta¡ Records that has been sitting in my P.O. box only yesterday. Released under the name of "La Gloria" as 10" pressing this latest work of Gotan Project will be appreciated by many fans, loving the fusion of Tango and styles of contemporary electronic music, Downbeat / TripHop in this specific case. But still this in not my cup of tea as I don't feel the Tango at all and I'm truly not the biggest fan of any kind of World Music vs. Electronics crossover movement. Not even the uptempo vision of Ninja Tune's Poirier on remix duties here can change my mind on this topic although his re-fix might work well within any kind of Kuduro / Baile Funk / Freestyle context and could be fitted in some UK Funky or Dubstep set as well although it takes some jocks with oversized balls to take that risk.

<$BlogFeedsVertical$>

David Forbes meets William Daniel - Devils Theory [Tetsuo 114]

Cat.no. 114 of Tetsuo is "Devils Theory", a collaborational work between David Forbes and William Daniel which deliver a storming piece about to set Trance floors on fire. Coming up with a stompy, quite technoid attitude before the epic, slightly metallic sounding breakdown this tune is the one taken out of the latest Tetsuo-releases that shows the biggest crossover potential towards the Techno scene and might be used as secret weapon by some of the Techno jocks out there to add some extra melodic spice to their sets. Featured on the flip there's a remix by TNR which is defo the weaker tune on this 12" delivering not more than average sounds, standard basslines and the usual string arrangements. Check out for the original tune.

<$BlogFeedsVertical$>

Death On Glamour - Detroit Techno [Super 6 Goodies 072]

Forthcoming via Super 6 Goodies is Death On Glamour's first outing on this digital imprint. Title track "Detroit Techno" is exactly on the musical tip that its name suggests and serves a raw and uncut journey to the ruffer edge of this style - if u love the sound of Underground Resistance u'll be as well appreciating this one. "Astron Eidos", the second track featured on here explores the realms of dark, cold and sci-fi flavored Electro that comes up with a very mechanical, robotic attitude, just like if the sounds were taken from a futuristic production line. Recommended.

<$BlogFeedsVertical$>

Donnacha Costello - Before We Say Goodbye [Poker Flat Recordings]

Announced for release on march 15th via Poker Flat Recordings is "Before We Say Goodbye", the new longplay album out of the studio of irish producer Donnacha Costello - the man behind labels like Look Long and Minimise, the latter especially known for the highly acclaimed conceptual "Colourseries" introducing a new sound somewhere in between hypnotizing Minimal Techno and the warm, melodic vision of so-called (Neo)Trance. Being a man of conceptual work the basic idea behind "Before We Say Goodbye" is a limitation of sound sources, using - apart from software used for drum processing - only three pieces of outboard equipment: Roland SH-101, Sequential Circuits Prohet 5 Rev2 and New England Digital Synclavier II. But these pieces are more than enough when used by the right hands and so the musical vision served on this album surely embraces the infamous "Colourseries" sound and crossbreeds it with Armchair Techno, sweet seductive melodies and evident influences of House Music. The result is an album that well works in residential areas, on car stereos and club environments albeit none of these tracks are really fitted for peak time use. But in the hands of well experienced jocks working crowds of true music lovers in smaller specialists venues each single track is able to open ppls hearts and to brighten up their life for at least a few minutes. Musicwise this is not the typical Poker Flat-release but defo one that's nearly impossible to dislike.

<$BlogFeedsVertical$>

15.03.2010 In 2 Headz @ Meaniebar / Hamburg

file under: Downbeat / Headz / Freestyle / Vintage

decks:
baze.djunkiii [Intrauterin Recordings / Byte.FM ]

doors: 9 P.M.

Meaniebar
Spielbudenplatz 5
Hamburg St. Pauli
Germany

<$BlogFeedsVertical$>

10.03.2010 baze.djunkiii presents: JDB @ Byte.FM

file under: Drum'n'Bass

decks: baze.djunkiii [Intrauterin Recordings / Byte.FM]

transmission starts: 23.59 [GMT+1]

transmission runs up to: 03.00 [GMT +1]

tune in @ Byte.FM

<$BlogFeedsVertical$>

Talla 2 XLC feat. On a thrilling speed this one seems to be more driving than recent Tetsuo-releases, featuring some acidic lines, drumrolls and straightforward claps underneath huge string arrangements - a true peak time tune for sure. Dead Western, a ten track and 47:07 album that'll mostly appeal to an audience following the sound of so-called Dark Folk and even in this very left-field genre Dead Western manages to stick out as something very special. This mostly is due to his specific voice, a very dark, sometimes soughing one that even seems to be slowed down on purpose but isn't, topping a main musical foundation of picked, acoustic guitar partly accompanied by bass, violin, kazoo and a few other, mostly acoustic instruments. Best listened to in lonely, windy, autumnal nights with no-one to talk to but a bottle of red wine as company.

<$BlogFeedsVertical$>

09.03.2010 Nacht Aus Beton @ Meaniebar / Hamburg

file under: PostPunk / (No) Wave / SynthPop / NuBeat / Indie / ElectroPunk / EBM / Ingenious Dilletantes

decks:
baze.djunkiii [Intrauterin Recordings / Byte.FM]

doors: 9 PM

Meaniebar
Spielbudenplatz 5
Hamburg St. Pauli
Germany

<$BlogFeedsVertical$>

08.03.2010 Phlexi.BRX @ Meaniebar / Hamburg

file under: NuSkoolBreaks / ElectroBreaks

decks:
baze.djunkiii [Intrauterin Recordings / Byte.FM]

doors: 9 P.M.

Meaniebar
Spielbudenplatz 5
Hamburg St. Pauli
Germany

<$BlogFeedsVertical$>

Martin Landsky - Werkschau [Poker Flat Recordings Digital 012]

Scheduled for March 5th via Poker Flat Recordings sublabel Poker Flat Digital is "Werkschau", picking a bunch of eleven tracks and five remixes Martin Landsky crafted for the likes of Detroit Grand Pubahs, Steve Bug and Soopa-Fi and others - a collection of the producers favorite tunes from his now nine years lasting release history on Poker Flat, including his day dot tune "Crude Clay" alongside a new version of his classic "1000 Miles" now entitled "2000 Miles", classics like "FM Safari" or "Mission Upskirt" and other highly appreciated pieces. No matter which track one choses as favorite - all of them showcase Martin Landsky's specific take on TechHouse with a futuristic attitude, a reduced, timeless and jacking vision of sound, driven by sharp hi-hats, on point claps and a knowledge of Chicago's House music history transferred to dancefloors of now and tomorrow, tracks that stick in boxes for ages and cause excitement whenever they're played out. Defo a good one that will hopefully lead to some serious repress action as a lot of these tunes are not available on vinyl no more and off the shelves for ages.

<$BlogFeedsVertical$>

Playlist: 25.02.2010 baze.djunkiii presents: W.hat A.bout H.ouse @ Byte.FM

Playlist:

25.02.2010 baze.djunkiii presents: W.hat A.bout H.ouse @ Byte.FM

transmission started: 24.02.2010 / 23.59 GMT+1

transmission ended: 25.02.2010 / 03.00 GMT+1

00.00 - 01.00

1. All mixes - two of "Bad Promoter" and one of "Encounter" - include massive string arrangements for huge areas and laser shows that are more likely to be found in the UK or the Netherlands rather than in Germany where the label is located so i bet a proper distribution line and exports structure will guarantee good sales rates in these countries.

<$BlogFeedsVertical$>

Talla 2XLC - Salvation [Tetsuo 111]

Put on the circuit recently via his very own Tetsuo-imprint is Talla 2XLC's massive TechTrance-tune "Salvation" which is featured on this 12" in two different variations. While the so-called "Anthem Mix" focuses on a huge mid-tune breakdown and epic string arrangements, the "TNR Remix" on the flip focuses on building up tension for what seems to be forever before giving release to all those Trance addicts willing to raise their hands up high in the sky. Will be appreciated and on heavy rotation within the Trance scene.

<$BlogFeedsVertical$>

01.03.2010 Booty. @ Meaniebar / Hamburg

file under: Electro / GhettoBass / GhettoTech

decks:
baze.djunkiii [Intrauterin Recordings / Byte.FM]

doors: 9 P.M.

Meaniebar
Spielbudenplatz 5
Hamburg St. Pauli
Germany

<$BlogFeedsVertical$>

26.02.2010 Plastik Phonk @ Die Welt Ist Schön / Hamburg

file under: Downbeat / Headz / Freestyle / Vintage

decks:
baze.djunkiii [Intrauterin Recordings / Byte FM ]

doors: 10 PM

Die Welt Ist Schön
Neuer Pferdemarkt 4
20359 Hamburg
Germany

<$BlogFeedsVertical$>

27.02.2010 Angel*Klub / Hamburg

decks:
baze.djunkiii [Intrauterin Recordings / Byte.FM]

doors: 11 P.M.

Angel*Klub
St.Pauli Fischmarkt
Hamburg St.Pauli
Germany

<$BlogFeedsVertical$>

24.02.2010 baze.djunkiii presents: W.hat A.bout H.ouse @ Byte.FM

file under: House

"My House Is Your House Is Your House Is..." - Stop. Rewind. Wrong Track. [Super 6 Records 048.5]

Soon to come via Super 6 Records is Michael Lambart's "Psychic soldiers E.P." - a four tracker that will be appreciated by all true Techno heads out there. The musical spectrum to be found on this one reaches from nerve grinding, technoid structures to pure, tool'ish DJ-tunes and up to acidic, kinda Trance-influenced hypnotracks. Quite diverse and quite good indeed.

<$BlogFeedsVertical$>

Graffiti Mechanism / Sascha Müller - Duplicator E.P. [Pharmacom Records]

Fresh on Pharmacom Records is the "Duplicator E.P.", a split release of Graffiti Mechanism and Sascha Müller which is limited to a whole of 19 - nineteen! - 3" CD copies world wide. Quite rare stuff, though, and dealing with quality music. Graffiti Mechanism's "Cease" is a very reduced Electro piece, "Current Direction" fuses the hypnotic quality of classic House chords with thrilling, resilient beats and finally we see Sascha Müller's "Zeitschaltuhr" representing the cold, futuristic sound of slow, grinding Electronica that meets 'troity bleeps. Recommended.

<$BlogFeedsVertical$>

Mad & Gagua - Cyber Ghost [Super 6 Goodies 071]

Forthcoming as cat.no. 071 of Super 6 Goodies is Mad & Gagua's "Cyber Ghost" E.P. - a three tracker easily to be filed under the flag of Electro- / FidgetHouse when it comes to the title track and some weird, quirky, kinda Psy-influenced TechHouse meets Minimalism when it comes to "Dreams Of Indifference" and "Indigo".
