Nabelose - Omokentro [Bohemian Drips 016]

Put out on the circuit via Bohemian Drips as the labels cat.no. 016 on September 30th, 2k22 is "Omokentro", the second full length album release by the duo Nabelose. Comprised of Ingrid Schmoliner and Elena Kakaliagou on vocals as well as prepared piano and french horn respectively the pair recorded the five pieces and roughly 46 minutes spanning album on location at a water reservoir in Prenzlauer Berg, Berlin at the occasion of the imprints very own 'Speicher - A Festival For Site Specific Music' in 2020, starting from a place of eerie, otherworldly and well dramatic klaxon'esque soundscapes which immediately evoke pictures of both the ancient horns of Jericho as well as Robert Zemeckis' sci-fi epos 'Contact' before Nabelose progress into clanging, spine-tingling DarkAmbient with "Kern", combine all their sonic tools to summon a scurrying congregation of ghosts followed by dreamy, melancholia-infused ambience and solemn, opera-like vocals in the live piece "Walking" whilst "Wolf's Path" emulates the nocturnal score for a sacred, millenia-old ritual and the final cut that is "Amygdalaki" provides a scenic and touching fusion of panoramic Ambient, ceremonial scores and the echoes of Minimal Music composition techniques for a closing. Recommended for late night listening sessions, this.
