LAC Trio - L'ala Incerta Della Farfalla [Aut Records 124]

Put out on the circuit via the ever expanding Aut Records label on April 9th, 2k25 is "L'ala Incerta Della Farfalla" by the LAC Trio which derives its name from the first letters of its members first names - Leonardo Franceschini, Andrea Leone and Carlo Longo. Employing a musical arsenal of guitar, tenor saxophone and drums as well a little help on the vocal side of things from Hanna Marieke on "Beau Soir" the trio embarks on a rather lush and beautiful journey with the dreamy and romantic opening tune that is "43" which sets the path and vibes for things to come like the timeless deep Jazz cut "Bucaneve", the subdued and tender, certainly playful and in parts off-kilter Improv approach of the title track before "Beau Soir" once again harks back to floating, somewhat Balearic hyperharmonics in combination with hovering non-vocalisms and expressive Spoken Word sequences for epic sunsets experienced on Mediterranean shores whereas "Rifiorisce" travels back in time to hit us with a sunny 70s Beat x Exotica Jazz variation only to work its way up to a sort of Free Jazz infused climax just to name a few. A lovely one, this album is.
