Juliann Kuchocki - Kuchocki Sings DiNovi: But Only For You [self-released]

Coming in from Canada and scheduled for release on November 6th, 2k26 is " Kuchocki Sings DiNovi: But Only For You", the latest longplay outing by Jazz vocalist Juliann Kuchocki who frames, commemorates and celebrates her friendship with pianist and composer Eugene Salvatore Patrick Dinovi, better known as Gene DiNovi, with this self-released album. With DiNovi already being credited as a piano player on a Capitol Records triple shellac release from 1948 and still stepping in to perform on pieces like "Once I Met A Day" and "Boy Do I Have A Surprise For You" whereas an array of the countries highly revered masters of their instrument is taking over for the rest of the eleven songs on this album, accompanied by Neil Swainson on bass and Merk Kelso on drums Kuchocki's vocal performance covers the entire range of classic Golden Era Jazz on this one, starting out from a frolicking, slightly swinging and positive angle in "I Like What I See In You", soon followed by the deeply heartfelt and tender love song that is "Once I Met A Day" which easily could function as the title theme for a major 50s Hollywood love story or the beautiful "Have A Heart" and its longing romantic strings and dreamy pianos. Furthermore the formerly unrecorded and unreleased title track that is "But Only For You" encapsulates the magic of Jazz at its absolute peak popularity and still sounds timeless even though mainstream popular music has moved on, "It Might Just Be Spring" comes across as a big time ballad with inherent Broadway qualities and "Boy Do I Have A Surprise For You" lives off of Gene Di Novi's cascading sparkling piano and Kuchocki's velvet voice which makes it an instant immediate classic for fans and lovers of large scale Golden Age Jazz of both vintage and contemporary origin just to name a few. If that's you, you'll find a treasure with this song - and album.
