Marmion - Schöneberg 2010 [Grand Casino 011 Promo]

It's been in 1993 - yes, that's 17 years now - when Marmion released his uber-classic hit "Schöneberg" on Hamburg's Superstition Records, a track that went straight through the roof of Germanys and the worlds young Techno / Trance scene and even now never sounds dated after such a long time. Now new remixes are available via Grand Casino featuring a few of todays most respected producers at the controls. On the A-side we see DJ Hell providing a rework which is soundwise quite close to the direction of his latest album "Teufelswerk", driving and trademark slightly distorted high and mid frequencies. NYC's Abe Duque is the next one to serve an ever rolling and hypnotic re-lick for darker hours on the dancefloor whilst Donnacha Costello totally deconstructs the original track, takes a few strings from the classic and comes up with a deep Armchair Techno piece that could be easily taken off his recent album "Before We Say Goodbye". Mr. Costello wins for making the biggest creative effort and transferring "Schöneberg" into new realms.
