Yellow6 - Searching For Your Perfect [Sound In Silence 125]
Jon Attwood is back on Sound In Silence. Once again. With his new album under his musical guise Yellow6 released on October 20th, 2k25 the Leicestershire-based artist and producer tackles the somewhat social media-imposed question of what comes after one has created the perfect piece, no matter if it's art, music, photography or whatever craft it is one might engage in. Contemplating on this question over a total playtime of roughly 73 minutes covered by eight pieces in total Mr. Attwood starts from a place of dreamy and minimalist PostRock meets Desert Blues with twangy guitars hovering over a stripped down suggestion of a rhythm signature in "All A Dream" which is followed by the deeper, more Ambient-leaning and pillowing pad-heavy textures of "One In One Out" and the calm, ever so slowly developing Ambient waves of "No Plan" which are as soft and soothing as a comfortably hot summers day. With "Lime" Yellow6 brings forth a similarly comforting piece of PostRock x PopAmbient built around a soothingly repeating guitar motif over an extended run time of more than 13 minutes, "See What Comes Of It" is on a rather inward-looking and thoughtfully ruminant tip leading into a panaromic climax somewhat reminiscent of classic New Age compositions, especially with its extended electric guitar solo hinting towards echoes of echoes of what once was referred to as Psychedelic Rock whereas "The Frozen Trees" returns to a softer, stripped down and most tender approach before getting full on nocturnal, subdued and minimalistic with the organic micromovements of "Stomch" whilst things come full circle with the almost acoustic feel the final cut "Yes. Closer". A most beautiful album which keeps one warm like a long needed hug throughout cold winter days. Go check.
