Miguel Flores - Lorca: Lost Tapes (1989 - 1991) [Buh Records Promo]

Released via Buh Records as a part of their 'Essential Sounds Collection'-series on October 4th, 2k19 is "Lorca: Lost Tapes (1989 - 1991)", a collection of previously unreleased works by Peruvian composer Miguel Flores mostly created for stage and theatre purposes and inspired by the Spanish playwright Federico Garcia Lorca. Presenting a total of ten compositions just subsequently titled in Roman numerals we see Flores cover a musical range from intense Ambient drones paired with Flamenco'esque guitars, beauteous score'esque balearisms paired with what seem to be theremin triggered, melancholy-infused melodies as well as soft, pad driven Folk meets Ambient fusions, spaced out, yet naturalistic Tribal excursions and even mixing folkloristic elements with fever'ish echoes of PostPunk whilst other tracks present dark, mulitlayered and nightmare'ish whispers or ecstatic music for ancient rituals which, despite being composed for different purposes, perfectly fall together as a homogenous album and beautiful historic documentation of previously unheard music.
