Dr. NoiseM - The CDr A-B-C: R [Dr. NoiseM Tapes]

Catching up with the sequels of Dr. NoiseM's "The CDr A-B-C" series we're dealing with the December 2k16-released "R" episode today which is, compared to the previous sequels, taking on a more solemn approach to Dark Ambient and is kinda moving away from being trapped in total, chthonian darkness. Instead of inducing icy fear and slow moving sonic terror this episode, yet gloomy and far from being anything close to calming or uplifting, seems to emit a dark and reddish glow like smoking embers after a large fire, creeping lava flows at night or - more terrifying - the remains on a battlefield after a long and hard fought night at the killing fields, seen through hazy morning lights just a few minutes before sunrise. And like a viscous magmatic stream this album is, slightly lighting up around minute 27 or so when a shining light seems to cut through all that haze and dust floating around in the air, providing a feeling of nearby redemption but in the end klaxonian signals and shifting subsonic mass are making a return to tell their grave and intense tales about the unspeakable terrors that have been and are about be in the future. We are not prepared.
