Darkness Falls - Alive In Us [HFN Music 009 Promo]

Well, this is what's to be called a very upfront review as the brand new - and Trentemøller-produced - debut album of the thrilling duo named Darkness Falls is scheduled for october 28th via HFN Music but as whitelabel copies of "Alive In Us" have been already put on the promo circuit all fans of Shoegaze and the PostPunk-influenced, darker side of Indie will be surely excited about this early announcement. So what's to be expected? A vinyl version including a bundle of twelve tracks including three pieces taken off their self-titled debut E.P. that's nicely mixing up the mentioned styles with a lonely desert feel causing an emotional effect that makes even more uplifting, dancefloor-filling songs like "The Void", "Before The Light Takes Us" or the anthemic "Hey!" sound like they're covered in layers and layers of dust. Others like "Paradise Trilogy III" are spooky or haunted and will be loved by those appreciating the slowed-down work of Lydia Lynch or The Slits - if one takes away the Dub-influences to be found in their music - and could well fit into any David Lynch curated soundtrack if ones takes a step further and Darkness Falls' music to the movies. Defo a grower and yet my favorite album for a fall to come.
