Pless - Hypernormal [Everest Records Promo]

Scheduled for release via the Swiss imprint that is Everest Records on January 14th, 2k22 is "Hypernormal", the new and forthcoming album release crafted by Pless, a duo formed by Leo Matkovic and Philip Thöni who, before embarking on a collaborative electronic path with this project, had already been bandmates in the Metal- / Metalcore-leaning band Unhold before. With "Hypernormal" Pless do embark on a seven tracks and roughly 43 minutes spanning journey which combines slow, yet undeniably Rock-influenced drums and dramatic, ever changing (Neo)Cosmic synth movements which are putting even early Synth masters to shame in their epic, sheer cinematic scope and emotional range covering longing melancholia, cascading joy, naturalist innocence as well as brooding, danger heralding darkness and, in hard contrast to this, even episodes of inward looking contemplation in cuts like "Ante Finem" whilst "Fog City" presents dry Downtempo Electronica excursions paired with ominous vocal samples and "Hot God" even weighs in some hot, abstract grooves and bubbling Acid modulations for late night sets on hyperadvanced dancefloors just to name a few favorites here. Good stuff.
