206 - Republik Der Heiserkeit [ZickZack / What's So Funny About Promo]

These kids are not alright. But special, angry and defo influenced by Punk and the dirty asthetics of Grunge. Recently released via the legendary imprint ZickZack / What's So Funny About is the raw, high octane fueled debut album of 206 entitled "Republik Der Heiserkeit", a fourteen track piece that sounds familiar and innovative at the same time with lyrics breathing the life, boredom and desperation of (urban) youth, keeping those old themes fresh and providing a soundtrack for a new generation of german post-Nirvana kids. This is not Indie, this is deeper.

Jack Is Back [Poker Flat Recordings 117 Promo]

Fresh from the Poker Flat Recordings-stable is their newest 12" entitled "Jack Is Back" featuring two exclusive tracks taken from the forthcoming compilation "Forward To The Past". The labels head honcho Steve Bug provides his tune "Jack Is Back" on side A, a filthy, stripped down piece of raw Chicago House in its purest form - think of a classic track like "House Nation" and you'll find the same vibe, the same sound and the same overall feel, play it out to a club crowd and you'll find that "Jack Is Back" is not only an empty phrase, just floor-tested the tune last night and people were going wild. On the flipside Martin Landsky rides the Chicago vibe with his track "V2U" which is as well to be described as a very basic composition built only on un-edited percussions, another jacking bassline and no bullshit at all - these elements were enough to work punters right back in the heydays of early House music and tracks like this prove that these elements are still doing exactly that in 2011 when they're put together in the right way. This IS a form of minimalism and it's the best to be found amongst all. Must have!

Piet van Dongen - Vulcanic Ass [Audiomatique Recordings 043 Promo]

Piet Van Dongen is responsible for cat.no. 043 of Audiomatique Recordings which is his latest tune "Vulcanic Ass" - a piece basicly build around an ecstatic, kinda Disco-related - we're talking the sound of Munich here - and ever driving bassline, thrilling siren loops and some glittering, beautiful synths that are truly sending ravers to party heaven. The flip sees the Barcelona-based production team named Audiofly on remix duties which are serving a deeper, slower and more percussive version of "Vulcanic Ass" which is fitting perfectly into contemporary DeepHouse-sets and about to be appreciated all over the place due to its unagitated but still grooving attitude.

Drownsoda - Last Summer Breath [ADP Records Promo]

Another fresh one put on the circuit via ADP Records is Drownsoda's recent EP entitled "Last Summer Breath" including five of their tunes plus a Dadajugend Polyform-relick of the title track. Musically, the sound of Drownsoda can be described as dreamy, shoegazing Indie on an electronic tip - instead of using guitars there are synthesizers to be found here building epic walls of glitz and kitsch, instead of using a real drum kit rhythms are generated by drum machines and the vocals provide a quite intimate feel instead of pushing folks to the dance floor. File under: Springtime music for progressive Indie girls being in love with their progressive Indie guys.

I'm Not A Band - Electrolin [ADP Records]

Put on the circuit via ADP Records is the latest album of the band outfit ironically named I'm Not A Band. Entitled "Electrolin" it might be the genre term of ElectroClash that suits best here as all thirteen tracks can be described as rockin' stuff for the worlds dancefloors that still refers to the golden age of SynthPop, plays around with violins and IndieRock but still remains fresh, unique, glitzy and partly anthemic. To be played out loud at your local Indie club as well as everywhere else - when played out in the morning this is the music to safe your day. Good one.

baze.djunkiii presents: Das grosse Finale.

DJ Hell - Suicide Commando

Originally written and performed by No More in 1981 DJ Hell's 1998-relick of the almighty "Suicide Commando"-track became an instant uber-hit in the Electro-/ Techno- / Electroclash-clubs of that era in which other track like I-f's "Space Invaders Are Smoking Grass" or Aphex Twin's "Windowlicker" were highly popular. To celebrate the 30 years anniversary of the original "Suicide Commando" No More will be playing a show in Hamburg this fall. Watch out for more info to come...

The Sound Of Super 6 [Super 6 Records 060]

Fresh on the circuit via Super 6 Records is their cat.no. 060, a fourteen track various artists sampler entitled "The Sound Of Super 6" featuring established acts from the labels roster like Toph Subderground, Nightnoise, DJ Pablishhhh! and others alongside relatively new acts like Falk or Artem Golovin. As wide as the artist selection is the musical range they represent although they're all focused on a straight 4-2-the-floor-beat here. From epic Acid with some more commercial sidelines in its synth workouts to uplifting, galopping Techno with a ravey attitude, TechHouse, Minimal and even some trancey as well as psychedlic stuff, whatever's the kind of 4/4-based electronic dance music you love it's to be found in this compilation made as a showcase for those who're not focused on one specific style but able to appreciate a journey through the whole spectrum.

baze.djunkiii Charts 02/2011

01. Spatial - 100402 / 100319 [Infrasonics]
Incredible 10" which is kinda introducing a new, thrilling style of its own. Somewhere in between Future Garage, Electronica, IDM, Urban Bass Music and a oldskool'ish, ravey, ass-kicking attitude this one is eclectic and dancefloor-smashing at the same time. Not sure where to finally play these unique tracks but I'm sure they're about to work advanced punters right.

02. Moritz Von Oswald Trio - Restructure 2 [Honest Jons Records]
Pure niceness. Moritz Von Oswald Trio's "Restructure 2" is a deep, floating piece of Armchair / Intelligent Techno that is not to be missed at all. On the flip all Dubstep-lovers are about to find a remix by the legendary production team of Digital Mystikz that is to be considered one of the best tunes leaving their studio in the past years - a war cut with an ancient feel, militant and deep.

03. Tiger Stripes - How We Feel [Audiomatique Recordings 042 Promo]

04. Darkness Falls - Darkness Falls [HFN Music 006 Promo]

05. Roland Appel - Fleurs Du Mal [Poker Flat Recordings 116 Promo]

06. Dadajugend Polyform - Louis De Marsalle [ADP Records Promo]

07. Avicii & Sebastien Drums - My Feelings For You [Superstar Recordings]
Usually commercial, mainstream House is not necessarily my favorite kind of style but this one caught my attention immediately when I first heard a snippet as a part of a german TV ad coze I quickly realized that I knew the main sample piece from an oldskool Jungle tune which turned out to be DJ Taktix' "It's The Way (V.I.P. Mix)", once released via Back 2 Basics. Couldn't get this one out of my head for a while so there was no other choice than adding this to my collection as well.

09.02.2011 baze.djunkiii presents: Booty. @ ByteFM

file under: GhettoBass / GhettoTech

"If you're offended by words like shit, bitch, ass, dick..." schalt lieber ab. ;)
