Alex Niggemann - Lately [Poker Flat Recordings 119 Promo]

With the labels cat.no. 119 Poker Flat Recordings adds another fresh face to its roster and although Alex Niggemann has been putting out tunes only since 2008 his three tunes on this 12" sound exactly like he's been providing tracks for the label since day dot. No matter if you're talking about "Lately", "Madness" or "Smash Your Face", all of these perfectly fit into the sonic realm one expects from a Poker Flat-release - the classic vibe with basslines referring to Chicago House, the funky, stripped down attitude, haunting athmosphere and pumping floor functionality that is appreciated for more than just one reason by punters and DJs all over the globe. Defo a 12" that'll stick in your box for a while and if it's leaving it'll just be waiting for an immediate return.

Dao De Noize / Sascha Müller / Syrinx - Split [Dark Meadow Recordings]

All those who're loving their Ambient music dark and experimental, sometimes drone-influenced and more un-easy than releaxing should check out the latest split CDr released via the UK-based Dark Meadow Recordings which sees Dao De Noize, Sascha Müller and Syrinx on a journey through fields of sounds that wouldn't even referred to as music by some. Whilst Dao De Noize's track "2 Stars" has a kind of sacred, ancient feel due to the use of what sounds like field recorded church bells and dark chorals behind a meandering curtain of static noize whilst Sascha Müller provides two tracks here - "Der Shamane" which is somewhat in between Drone and hypnotic Post-PostRock and "The Tabla Player" featuring a massive excess of processed drum works underneath a warm epic Ambient drone. Finally Syrinx comes up with "The Calm Before The Storm", the most Dark Ambient / Deep Listening piece on this split which reminds of the musical work of artists like Kallabris, Lunatik Sound System or Tarkatak. Recommended.

Energy 52 - Cafe Del Mar *The Ricardo Villalobos Remixes [Flying Circus 003 Promo]

After more than forever the mysterious Flying Circus-imprint is back with its third release and once again a true Techno-classic is served in new and previously unheard remix versions. This time it's Energy 52's anthemic and legendary all-time favorite "Cafe Del Mar" which is de- and re-tuned by Mr. Ricardo Villalobos himself which delivers two ultra-minimalistic reworks featuring only very few recognizable elements, bits of the classic bassline and small pieces of the main theme flickering through here and there, of the original tune. Due to this both remixes are more tunes of their own than classic remixes, leaving out the whole ecstatic energy and magic of "Cafe del Mar", but for fans of the drug-induced and ketamine-driven after hour sound of Mr. Villalobos they're quite functional. Recommended to the mentioned, not recommended to those who've been looking for versions able to recreate the ultimate hands up-moments that are associated with "Cafe Del Mar" for now and ever.

Michael Lambart - Rolle Rückwärts EP [Super 6 Records 063.5]

Michael Lambart comes up with a new four-track piece on Super 6 Records named "Rolle Rückwärts EP" which might well appeal to all lovers of straight uncompromising prime time Techno. Although none of these tracks adds a new, specific or unique flavor to this genre that, sadly, is not that present in today's clubs as it used to be they're all well crafted, hyper functional and on a high quality level that guarantees a massive full body workout on dancefloors and a lot of happy faces amongst all true Techno ravers. Especially check out the title track "Rolle Rückwärts" for massive win.

JGarrett - Travel With Prediction Of Rain / Mountain Through The Cloud Bank [Chillzone Records]

Put on the promo circuit via Chillzone Records recently is JGarrett's latest two-tracker featuring tracks with titles that totally won't fit to the early summer vibe we're experiencing in these days of April. But we're here to talk music not names and this is what's to be found here: "Travel With Prediction Of Rain" is a nice piece of Electronica including a lot of beat wizzardry, piano chords and a ravey late night attitude that is about to be appreciated in places like Hamburg's famous Golden Pudel Club where true lovers of advanced electronic music gather on sunday nights. On the other hand there's "Mountain Through The Cloud Bank", a Ambient / Deep Listening piece spreading foggy melancholia based on cloudy string arrangements and beats brought to the very background of the mix - might be an ideal closing track for terrace sets or just a good example of so-called PopAmbient.

Sascha Müller - Krankenhaus (MAGENTA) [SM Traxxx 008]

The next step forward in Sascha Müller's "Krankenhaus"-series is the "Magenta"-edition and once again the two tunes featured here are made for those who love their Techno music very pure and basic. Whilst "Krankenhaus (MAGENTA) 1" sounds like a slightly distorted and ever repeating lo-fi 4-2-the-floor loop with some additional acidic bleeps "Krankenhaus (MAGENTA) 2" is on a techier tip featuring hypnotic sci-fi sounds that could be taken off some mid-90s Intelligent Techno record. Recommended to people that do remember that minimalism in electronic dance music used to mean something good and not necessarily equals boredom.

Duality - European Diplomacy EP [Super 6 Records 063]

Fresh via Super 6 Records is Duality's newest output named "European Diplomacy". Whilst the original track is a deep, epic, Trance-influenced terrace piece with quirky bleeps and an irritating, kinda off-beat hi-hat use the remixes take this track to other directions. Alfonso Padilla speeds shit up and serves a proper uplifting Tech-/ElectroHouse relick with a massive huge area breakdown whilst eVADE stays on a deeper, melodic road with his remix and adds additional robotic vocal bits from his tune "Robot" to the menu. Finally there's Sascha Müller on remix duty, coming up with a thrilling piece of acidic ClubTechno that is defo my favorite out of these four versions due to it's screaming 303-lines.

Bondage Fairies - 1-0

This is a great little video accompanying a track of our favourite swedish IndieElectro-robozoids named Bondage Fairies which was shot in Hamburg city. For all those who're not familiar with the city here's a listing of some places featured - mainly located in the quarters of Altona, St. Pauli & Karoviertel which are the most important quarters for all people creative and alternative. Apart from St. Pauli's Wohlwillstrasse, a place with many nice stores and cafes, you get a glimpse of the famous Bunker / Feldstrasse, home to web radio ByteFM and Uebel & Gefährlich, the Boys Boys Boys-store and the so-called Karostar office building which is home to labels like Audiolith and FDI Music amongst others.

For those of you readers who can't wait to experience the Bondage Fairies-pack live (big fun for sure!) here's the flyer for their upcoming tour with nearly 20 shows announced for Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Personally I will not miss their show in Hamburg on April 10th for any reason, taking place @ the infamous Molotow - a place familiar to any Indie-kid around with a stage that has seen more now highly popular bands at a very early stage of their career than any other club around.

Vincenzo - Whereever I Lay My Head [Dessous Recordings Promo]

Nine years in electronic music seems to equal eternity but so many years plus a stream of 12" releases have gone by since long-time Dessous Recordings-affiliate Vincenzo released his last longplay album "Welcome To Zanarkand" back in 2002. Now the time is ready for his next strike named "Whereever I Lay My Head" and as one might expect this one is quality business. In difference to his 12" works which are usually directly aiming towards dancefloors this album reveals a broad understanding of electronic music as a whole, representing Vincenzo's ability to go further and pay homage to his roots which go back to HipHop and so-called Black Music. Musicwise, apart from the obligatory classy DeepHouse Vincenzo is known and loved for, styles like Broken Beat / Broken House, Downtempo and even one Ambient-flavored tune are to be found on the vinyl version of "Whereever I Lay My Head" which is to be well-appreciated by music lovers and freestyle jocks - especially the deep, dreamy but still anthemic "Hello" featuring Lisa Shaw is a track that should be on heavy rotation at terrace floors all over the world. Recommended.

Sascha Müller - Turmabsprung [Super 6 Records 062.5]

All Acid-addicts watch out for Sascha Müller's latest longplayer "Turmabsprung" recently released via his very own Super 6 Records-imprint. No matter if you like your Acid raw, wild and uncut, slow, jacking and Chicago-influenced, hypnotic, screeching and nerve bending or with an experimental twist - one of these tracks is about to please you for sure as Sascha Müller is one of the true Acid masters of our time which manages to keep this sound fresh although Acid has been around for more than 20 years now. Me likes.
