Dr. NoiseM - Perculator [Dr. NoiseM Tapes]

The ever active yet still mysterious producer Dr. NoiseM is back with a new cassette tape release these days and up to cater the needs of all fans of experimental electronics and collectors alike with this limited edition print run of only 35 copies worldwide. Opening the album with its title track "Perculator" the artist serves an excellent trip into fragile Ambient Electronica for highly advanced ChillOut floors which is, in parts, reminiscent of Nommo Ogo's most outstanding work on labels like Isolate Records whilst the following "Perculator Read" is a blueprint for ultraminimalist, beatless Deep Listening Music with a dark'ish twist and "Passing The Perculator" provides more spine-tingling thrills with a steady, near-silent background Drone and a stripped down, lo-fi'esque melodic motif that comes across like a transmission from an undisclosed location in deep space. On the flipside we'll find "Perculator To The End Part 1 & 2" rolled out over the course of nearly 20 minutes for each part, fusing Dark / Cold Ambient-resembling atmospheres and Industrial-influenced Electronica structures to a great result, making this the best album in this specific niche we've heard in 2k17 so far. Highly recommended.

Dr. NoiseM - The CDr A-B-C: S [Dr. NoiseM Tapes]

So here we go again with another episode of Dr.NoiseM's epic series named "The CDr A-B-C" which is closely but surely coming to an end in late summer, early fall of 2k17. In the "S"-sequel we see the artist provide a more Ambient-informed approach to his trademark soundscapes bordering both Deep Listening Music, Drone and Dark Ambient with only a few repetetive, dark'ish and threatening movements in the subfrequent spectrum whilst more melodic layers and tonal elements seem to build up around minute 13 ff. which, for some strange reason, do remind us of slowed down versions of the epic vocal melodies used in the intro sequence of RMB's Rave classic "Matisse". These elements stay present and evolve throughout the further course of this one track album, amalgamate with thunderous roars and drift over dead and burnt landscapes like severe, led-coloured clouds after a disastrous storm - a curtain of pure ponderosity and apocalyptic severity, slowly turning like a humongous maelstrom, yet still fascinating and braincell stimulating as things can get. Good stuff.

Jebroer - Me Gabber *DJ Paul Elstak & The BeatKrusher Remix (Official Video)

It's always fascinating to think about how Gabber is still a staple in the Netherland's pop and therefore also mainstream culture.

Sascha Müller - 3 A.M. Here EP [SMSM 009]

The ever busy Meppen-based producer Sascha Müller hits the scene again with his new digital single named "3 A.M. Here EP" which contains three tracks aiming at the global (Tech)House- and related crowds. With "Beyond And Back" Mr. Müller is on a well-melodic tip, choosing slower gears as well as a dreamy bassline and close-to-kitsch melodic structures as his weapon of choice to set this years open air floors in motion, "Head Out" speeds things up a little and rocks dancefloors with raw, razor sharp hi-hats, a warm, highly seductive bassline motif, fuzzy pads, microsampled vocal madness and sweet, oldskool'ish disco licks before the final cut "Summer Party" introduces a playful, overwhelmingly friendly DiscoPhonk vibe to all real House Music afficionados out there. Sweetness.

No More - Suicide Commando [Mannequin Records 065]

Re-released via Mannequin Records in 2015 and now repressed as a limited run of mint green vinyl in late 2016 is No More's legendary 12" single version of their massive (No)Wave / PostPunk smash hit "Suicide Commando" which was put out on the circuit via Wishbone Records back in 1984 and also featured the melancholy-infused "It Feels Like 1925" from 1982s EP "A Rose Is A Rose" as well as the at the time previously unreleased "Danse Macabre", a deep and spine-tingling take on the bands work that's still able to set today's Wave floors on fire when the track picks up pace throughout its second half. So if you haven't picked up a copy of "Suicide Commando" for your collection in the past here's another chance to get hold of an essential track that surely has been an influential cut for many musicians, bands and producers out there.

Bogus Order - The Bullnose Step EP [Ahead Of Our Time 005]

Coming in only recently from the Ahead Of Our Time-camp was Bogus Order's "The Bullnose Step EP", the first release by Ninja Tune-founders and Coldcut-protagonists Jonathan More and Matt Black under this moniker in 25 years, a special occasion for which the duo even revived their classic imprint which can be seen as a predecessor to what Ninja Tune was to become later. With four tracks on this limited to 500 copies 12" the two brits lead us into a wonderful world of cinematic, most beautiful electronic freestyle music with the title track "Bullnose Step", redefine springy, frolicking TripHop for 2k17 with "Ex Voto", team up with the German electronic masters Air Liquide and their long-time vocal collaborator Mary S Applegate for "It's Up To You" which weighs in mysterious, dubbed-out vibes for highly advanced late night dancefloors and finally are even rocking Indie and BigBeat nights alike with rock-solid beats and massive guitar riffs to be found in the concluding tune "Flight". Defo a good and pretty diverse comeback this is. Check!

baze.djunkiii Charts 02/2017

01. Peder Mannerfelt - Black Holes, Or How We Lost Solidarity [Hinge Finger]
What a killer, this one is! Peder Mannerfelt devastates dancefloors with four tracks, of which especially the opening tune "Cry To Your Soul" presents a new take on Industrial Rave through amalgamating abstract, Noize-induced Rhythm Industrial sequences, Broken Techno and super cheesy Happy Hardcore-piano lines which at first don't seem to fall in place just right but turn out to be one of the greatest and most unexpected anthems of our modern days. Another one to watch out for on this banger is "Clear Eyes, Full Heart" - a massive fusion of hard stomping Techno as well as basslines and samples taken from the darkest vaults of SpeedGarage, Niche and 4/4 bass music. Mayhem!

02. Robert Armani - Lumberyard Disco Traxx [Don't Recordings 033]
This is raw! A compilation of four hard hitting underground House tracks produced by Chicago-staple Robert Armani, dug up and remastered from the archives of the Dance Mania and ACV labels for ultimate dancefloor devastation. This is what we love, this is what we want.

03. Hainbach - Shrines [self-released tape]
See review for details...

04. DJ Earl - Open Your Eyes [Teklife Records 002]
What a killer album coming from Chicago's DJ Earl who's bringing us eight tracks of straight up Juke, produced in cooperation with the likes of Moondoctor, OPN, DJ Manny, DJ Taye and Suzi Analogue here. The opener "Smoking Reggie" directly beams us into the future, introducing a futuristic, super tense crime scene vibe, "Smoke Dat Green" comes across in a more relaxed, yet thrilling manner, "Lotta A$$" is as polyrhythmic as Juke can ever get and "Fukk It Up" caters quite a bit of Smokers Funk to buzzing dancefloor sessions. On the flip we've got "Rachett", another futuristic smokers anthem which brings in a killer synth melody, "Drumatic" is the blueprint of climactic peaktime drama on every Juke floor and defo the most ecstatic cut featured on "Open Your Eyes", "Let's Work" abuses a classic vocal sample well-known to all House music lovers to a great  effect and adds sweet bits of urban melancholia for late night sets and finally "All Inn" fuses deep, mystic vibes and complex melodic bits with a certain influence from the genres dark side to set all dancers in motion. Recommended.

05. Taso - New Start [Teklife Records 003]

The Teklife-crew is busy as ever, bringing us the vinyl album debut of their longtime member Taso who is working solo here as well as collaborating with the likes of DJ Rashad, DJ Earl, DJ Manny, Gant-Man and the whole posse. Especially the title track "New Start" sticks out here as it introduces halftime Juke with a very special approach to vocal abuse which evokes memories of the good old days of Jungle whilst "Don't Get Mad" brings in more of an original GhettoBass vibe, "Bussin" pay homage to the early days of Drum'n'Bass kind of, "Murda Bass" branches out into classic, bassheavy and surely bad ass Dubstep and "Da Capo Al Coda" focuses on a hyper dope, kinda Instrumental HipHop-beat to rock floors for a reason. Good stuff, this.

San Fermin - Bride (Official Audio)

Mesmerizing visuals and a fresh, dreamy take on Synth-driven IndiePop is what this first preview of San Fermin's upcoming, April 2k17-scheduled album "Belong" brings.

Drumcorps - Robot Future

This for sure is the most futuristic Drum'n'Bass tune we've come across in a while. A masterpiece crafted by our old mate Aaron Spectre under his Drumcorps moniker who seems to pick up on the cold and hyperclean vision of Drum'n'Bass once introduced by Current Value throughout his Position Chrome days. We love this.
